00989 St. Peter the Apostle.jpg

The figure of St. Peter evolves slowly out of single block of stone. The keys and fisherman's net are symbols of St. Peter as the first pope with the papal keys and as an apostle of fisher of men. Pope Paul's coat of arms symbolize the unbroken continuity of the church from the first pope, St. Peter to today.
