Roth Totem

This relief is located on the eastern wall of the Roth School building approximately 12 feet from the ground at its highest point. The piece consists of three basic pairs of figures. The three panels appear to represent school activities - the top showing football - the middle representing music (with figures holding a string and wind instument) and the bottom panel may represent dance or running. The piece is constructed using a ceramic material with colors cream, beige and gray. The figures are heavily outlined and the background surface texture is characteristic of the texture Robert Koepnick used on his metal pieces.
