Middle East Conflicts Memorial

This stone memorial is located in Trumbull county's Veteran's Park in Warren, Ohio and was commissioned by Liam McGee as an Eagle Scout project. The shape of this sculpture is reminiscent of a head stone and includes a relief carving of a helmet on the stock of a rifle that is pointed downward and situated between a pair of military boots. The purpose of this sculpture is to honor all soldier involved in the conflicts in the middle east, but also pays specific tribute to the men from Trumbull County who made the ultimate sacrifice including Army Specialist Brian Keith Spackman who died during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, as well as Army Lt. Colonel Dominic Rocco Baragona and Army Sergeants Marco Miller and Michael Carr who were killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The inscribed text was written by Liam McGee and reads: Middle East Conflicts Memorial • This memorial is dedicated to honor Trumbull county's men and women of the United States Armed Forces for their service in support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as all past and future conflicts in the Global War on Terrorism • Let all who gather here revere those who made the ultimate sacrifice in these conflicts and also recognize the service of the military families who have borne a disproportionate share of the cost of freedom • All gave some, some gave all.
